LOL Comedy, Inc. has announced the launch of LOLFlix.com, inspired by comedian Louis C.K.’s direct to download distribution method of releasing his material. The new website will allow users to download stand-up comedy onto their devices, charging only a small fee and not requiring users to sign up for a membership.
All specials will be always be in HD and will cost $5 or less per download and will be DRM free. Every $5 purcahse will entitle the user to three downloads. In addition, each $2.99 purchase would come with two streaming opportunities. The files are available through iTunes, Quicktime and are smart phone-friendly. They are all under 1GB for easy file transfer and streaming can be accessed through all devices that reach the internet.
The first title in the launch of the site will be Snoop Dog Presents the Bad Girls of Comedy along with 30 other exclusive titles, all of which has already premiered on Showtime Network. LOLFlix.com will continue to release up to 20 more titles into 2013.
