A Supreme Court judge ruled that Jerry Seinfeld must pay a real estate broker fee of at least $98,750 for the $4 million Manhattan townhouse that he and his wife purchased in 2005.
Seinfeld testified that the broker, Tamara Cohen did not deserve payment because she was not available when he and his wife wanted to see the townhouse, but evidence showed that Cohen showed the townhouse to the Seinfeld’s real estate manager, Steven Galistinos and Mrs. Seinfeld.
The judge wrote: “Indeed, she [Cohen] located several townhouses at Galistinos’ request, showed the premises in question to Galistinos and Jessica Seinfeld…and made arrange-
ments to have the Seinfelds see the premises the following week.”
Cohen is due to receive 5 percent or 6 percent of the sale – either $98,750 or $118,500.
