Comedy Central will honor TV’s hottest minstrel Flavor Flav, who will be roasted by his friends and colleagues. “We only roast the ones we love and the world is clearly crazy about this guy,” said Elizabeth Porter, senior vice president, specials and talent for Comedy Central. “This event will be full of surprises as Flavor Flav is going to experience a whole new kind of love in this Roast.”
We don’t know what’s more scarier: The irony in watching white comedians call Flav a “sellout” or that the show will be aired on the eve of the Harlem Comedy Festival, which aims to destroy the negative stereotypes that Flav perpetuates.
