The case of the car raffle gone bad is heating up as Cincinnati Bengals’ wide receiver Chad Johnson and the management of The Funny Bone gave their depositions and the plaintiffs seeking compensation from the NFL star and the comedy club have grown to about 30, reports TheEnquirer.com.
According to the lawsuit, the plaintiffs, some of which purchased several tickets, say that The Funny Bone advertised that Johnson would give away a Lexus to a patron at the Dec. 19 show, but Johnson instead gave the car to his girlfriend. Johnson said in his deposition that he never had an agreement with The Funny Bone, but would give away prizes at the club. Club management said that Johnson made plans to raffle the Lexus.
The case is expected to go to trial in June.
