Two angry hecklers tried to storm the stage during a comedy show at UC Irvine’s Anthill Pub Monday night. Comedian Mark Serritella says that two Muslim men began heckling him during his set and then rushed the stage. “One actually made it on to the stage and he demanded the mic,” Serritella writes on his MySpace blog. “I stepped to the side and refused. But like the passengers on Flight 93, the students all rushed them. The whole crowd of approximately 150 became instant sky marshals! It was exhilarating. They pushed him off stage and he nearly fell.”
The hecklers were escorted from the building and Serritella continued his set. “It was a great show. Thanks to all the students at UC Irvine. Thanks for the applause and the emails. You restored my faith in America.”
