While most comics choose the traditional route of working the comedy club circuit, others prefer performing at alternative venues such as comedian-writer Paul F. Tompkins, who will headline Saturday, June 21 at the Triple Rock Social Club, a punk-rock club in Minneapolis.
“I’ve been doing comedy since 1986 and I’m just not happy performing in comedy clubs anymore,” Tompkins tells StarTribune.com. “At a comedy club, I feel like I am in competition with all the selling that is going on. I feel like I am a sort of chicken wing delivery system and that’s it.”
