The 9th annual Boston International Comedy and Movie Festival will kick off Sept. 14 with nearly 100 comedians competing for the grand prize of $10,000 and the coveted title of best stand up. Comedians Frank Santorelli, Tony V, Shane Mauss and Esther Ku will make special appearances. This year, the festival will honor the legendary comedy duo The Smothers Brothers with a lifetime achievement award at the Cutler Majestic Theatre at Emerson College.
Festival organizer Jim McCue recently announced a partnership with Mottley’s Comedy Club, a new 100-seat room founded by Boston comedians Tim McIntire, Jon Lincoln and Jeff Fairbanks, whose grand opening week will be part of the festival.
The Boston International Comedy Movie Festival will take place Sept. 14-20.
