Jim McCue, founder of the Boston Comedy Festival, will launch the first-ever New York Comedy Contest, June 14-20. The contest will take place at various comedy clubs in New York City including Comic Strip Live and Broadway Comedy Club.
The event was created to give up-and-coming comics around the country an opportunity to showcase for industry and compete for $5,000 in cash prizes. The top eight finalists will perform in The Boston Comedy Festival where they will compete for $10,000 in cash and prizes.
The New York Comedy Contest is accepting submissions.
Submission Requirements:
- DVD of a performance that is no longer than six minutes long
- Bio and headshot
- Entry fee (check or money order for $35 US made payable to “New York Comedy Competition”)
