The Laff House Comedy Club will host the Philadelphia Comedy Festival November 4-8. Comedians scheduled to perform include Paul Mooney (Chappelle’s Show, In Living Color), Michael Blackson (The African King of Comedy), Teddy Carpenter (Martin Lawrence Show, Host of “Later”), and Donnell Rawlings (Chappelle’s Show, The Wire). The festival will feature top local comedians as well as the New Faces Of Comedy showcase.
The festival is also offering the opportunity for performers to be seen by industry execs such as Don Lichterman of Sunset Live. (Sunset Live, an independent record label owned by Lichterman, has released CDs by comedians Kevin Hart, Gerald Kelly, Deon Cole and Mark Simmons.) Lichterman plans to present a night dedicated to “live downloads” making festival sets available to comedy fans all over the world.
