We dropped by Gotham Comedy Club recently to check out the Innovative Artists Industry Showcase. Hosted by Leah Bonnema, the show featured a dozen comedians including Greer Barnes, Todd Lynn, J.P. Justice, Billy White, Cory Fernandez, Tonya Shemelle and Raheem Barry. Noteworthy performances: Seasoned pros Barnes and Lynn delivered killer sets as expected; John Moses created a laugh riot with his Bill Burr-flavored shtick, and TV-ready up and comer M. Dickson wowed the audience with her laugh-out-loud funny, fast-draw delivery. The 24 year-old comedian who performs at colleges and clubs across the country, produced one of the most polished, tight five industry sets we’ve seen in recent memory.
The next showcase will be Thursday, October 15 at Gotham Comedy Club.
