The winners of the fifth annual March Comedy Madness 2011 were announced as Samba Schutte was crowned winner of the competition last Sunday at The Comedy Store in Hollywood. Comedian Pat O’Rourke received the honor last Friday at Governor’s Comedy Club in Levittown, NY. Both comedians beat out 64 competitors in the bi-coastal, four-week tournament created, produced and hosted by Josh Filipowski and Bryan Kennedy.
Schutte and O’Rourke won cash and prizes including paid bookings at Governor’s, McGuires and Brokerage Comedy Clubs, feature spot at La Jolla Comedy Store, headshot photo packages and acting classes.
Past winners include Julian McCullough (Comedy Central Presents) Reese Waters (Verses’ The Daily Line) Myq Kaplan (Last Comic Standing) and Sam Morril.
