Michael Ian Black’s one hour stand-up special, Michael Ian Black: Very Famous, will debut Saturday, August 6 at 11pm ET/PT on Comedy Central. Black discusses the irony in being an accomplished and well-known comedian who strangers constantly find unamusing. Being considered a famous comedian (yet simultaneously unfunny), is an irreverent backdrop for Black to recount his euphoric skydiving experience, his disdain for his children’s unoriginal Halloween costumes and the inevitable awkwardness of a rectal exam.
Michael Ian Black: Very Famous will be released by COMEDY CENTRAL Records on CD and digital album on Tuesday, August 9. The CD and digital album are uncensored and extended.
Black regularly tours the country performing his ribald brand of humor and observations and will soon begin a 20-city national tour, titled Black is White.
