Comedian George Lopez took home the Alma award for outstanding comedy special for George Lopez: America’s Mexican. Carlos Mencia: Performance Enhanced, Alex Reymundo: Hick-Spanic Live in Albuquerque, The Original Latin Divas of Comedy and Payaso Comedy Slam also received nominations in the same category.
Stand-up comedian and Lost star Jorge Garcia won the award for outstanding supporting actor in a drama television series.
The 2008 Alma Awards, celebrating the outstanding artistic achievements of Latinos in motion pictures, television and music, taped August 17 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium and will air Sept. 12th on ABC.
