The New York Underground Comedy Festival announced it will hold its annual event August 15-22 at various clubs and theaters throughout New York City, and will branch out west to add a three-day festival in Los Angeles in late October.
The festival is accepting submissions in two categories for professional comic and the Emerging Comic’s Contest.
Submission rules and requirements:
Professional Comics should submit a DVD of 20 minutes or more, and a recommendation letter from an industry professional (agent, manager, or club owner). Submissions will be accepted through July 10. There is no submission fee. All recommendations will be verified. Please mark submission “Professional” on the outside of the envelope.
Emerging Comic’s Contest applicants should submit a 5-plus minute DVD. The submission fee is $30 if submitted before June 15. The submission fee is $45 if submitted between June 15-July 15. Checks should be made payable to Hubris Entertainment, LLC. Please mark submission “Emerging” on the outside of the envelope.
For International submissions, the submission fee is $50 and must be payable in US funds.
