The New York Underground Comedy Festival is accepting submissions until September 15 for its west coast edition of the festival in Los Angeles. Comedians can send submissions in the Professional Comic Category or the Emerging Comic’s Contest. The festival will take place October 26-28 at various venues including Sal’s Comedy Hole, The Ice House, The Laugh Factory and the Ha Ha Cafe.
Submission rules and requirements:
Professional Comic Submissions: Comics should send in a DVD of 20 minutes or more, plus a recommendation letter from and industry professional (Agent, manager, or club owner.) Submissions will be accepted until September 15. There is no fee to submit for the professional comic category, however all recommendations will be verified. Mark your submission “Professional” on the outside of the envelope.
Emerging Comic Contest Submissions: Comics should send a 5+ minute DVD. There is also a $30 submission fee if you submit before August 31. If you submit between August 31 and September 15, the submission fee is $45. Checks should be made payable to New Media Comedy, LLC. Mark your submission “Emerging” on the outside of the envelope.
All international submissions must be made out in US funds, and the submission rate is $50
The line up for the Emerging Comic’s Contest will be announced on October 1.
